Built by Girls is an organization that prepares the next generation of female and non-binary leaders, builders, and creators for careers powered by technology. I organize networking events and tech workshops by coordinating with companies to co-host events that develop technical and professional skills for members to help improve gender diversity in the tech industry.
Ghungroo Dance Company (GDC) is a dance team at the University of Illinois committed to showcasing various dance styles of Indian culture. We perform at various events on campus as well as around Illinois. Every year, GDC has a show around March where our talented, high-energy team is able to display their complete love and passion for dance
BMES (Biomedical Engineering Society) is a organization of students passionate about supporting the growing biomedical engineering communities. As a member of the UIUC chapter, I am involved with valuable opportunities such as student mentoring, technical opportunities, and community outreach.
SAIL is an outreach program by the UIUC Computer Science department that allows high school students to learn more about the field of Computer Science. Through this program, I taught an Intro to Machine Learning class which covered the machine learning pipeline, useful python packages, and demos using Naive Bayes and Random Forest classification.
As a course assistant to the introduction to computer science course (CS 125), I engaged with students through various means. I assisted a section of 36 students through weekly Java programming labs. I held office hours to reinforce concepts including object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithm design, and recursion. In addition, I answered questions posted on the student forum.
